LYN MABRY

If we’re lucky, we trust ourselves enough to spend our lives doing what we love. Lyn Mabry is leading by example. It did take guts to follow her heart and become a full-time designer after using her talent in other interesting venues. Her mother was also a well-known interior designer in Nashville, but Lyn’s talent is a gift of her own.

Lyn spent the first chunk of her professional life working for high-end boutique hotels, but after more than 20 years in the hotel business, Lyn was ready for a new adventure. This time, alongside a friend, she brought class and design to the dogs, building and designing a luxury, state of the art, one of a kind, pet boarding facility in Nashville. She combined her top-tier hotel experience, first class customer service standards and natural gifts of interior design to create The Farm at Natchez Trace [https://thefarmatnatcheztrace.com/].  At the same time, several of Lyn’s own residential renovation projects were being showcased by local home tours. So after several successful years, Lyn sold her interest in The Farm to her partner and moved back to Louisville to follow her dream in residential design.

After a career and a half, she was answering the call to lean fully into her authentic self. Back in Louisville, she jumped into her passion–renovating with her keen intuition and becoming part of a national design and décor business. By 2012, she had proven to herself what she already knew–that she was born to be an interior designer. Time to jump in with both feet.

Lyn invested in herself by birthing Living Spaces by Lyn, which finally gave Lyn the platform to make a huge difference in the lives of her clients.  Her business saw meteoric growth, as she and her team shined in the field as experts in design, staging, renovations and even organization. She was selected to help update and furnish the famous CNet Smart House in Louisville [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEcQ1bIHZhs&ab_channel=DigitalTrends], has an accreditation as Expert Psychological Stager™ and was a Best of Houzz award winner year after year. As her business grew, so did the diversity of her client base: Realtors, builders, and individuals living in the US and abroad, were contacting Lyn to help them transform spaces.

DESIGNING SPACES

Lyn ran and grew Living Spaces by Lyn for 10 busy years, when her long-time desire of moving to the mountains of Western North Carolina synchronized with a timely opportunity to sell her large, Lousiville-based business. Lyn landed in Hendersonville, NC in July of 2022, to start again with Designing Spaces by Lyn, wiser and more experienced than ever. Her goal is to keep doing what she does best–seeing the design and potential of spaces, while teaming up with local craftspeople who can make her vision come to life. Wise, intuitive, and joyful, Lyn wants to continue organically and beautifully leaving her mark on the world.

“This is what I do, and will probably do until my last breath.”

“It is my belief that we each put our soul into a house. It’s what makes it a home rather than just a place to live. The design, the layout of the rooms, the colors, the pictures we hang, the lights that illuminate our paths or our bed-side tables each say something about us. It involves vision, artistry and a clear understanding of the people who will use these living spaces. I can help you insure that your soul fills you home easily. And that it accepts you.”
